Clausing Industrial, Inc. again expands its role in the Michigan Skills USA/VICA competition

U.S. based 600 Group Company, Clausing Industrial, Inc. will again play host to the Michigan SkillsUSA/VICA competition on April 24th, 2004, designed to test the precision skills of Michigan’s finest metalworking students. This year, for the second year in a row, Clausing, 1819 North Pitcher Street, will not only host the “job specific competition” but will also host the “all around competition.”

A total of 36-40 qualifying students will compete in precision milling, turning, grinding and bench work for a panel of judges from Clausing and SkillsUSA. The winners will advance to the National SkillsUSA Event in Kansas City on June 24th. All machines used in both the Michigan and national events have been provided by Clausing.

SkillsUSA/VICA is a non-profit making organization which provides over 13,000 students at US schools and colleges with relevant job training in over 100 different skilled occupations. The programs prepare students for employment by introducing them to the corporate quality culture and emphasizing the importance of leadership skills, positive attitudes and pride in workmanship.
